This project draws from the rich histories of Minoan and Ethiopian women and reinterprets them in a modern context. By thoughtfully combining elements from both cultures to create silhouettes and authentic patterns, this design pays homage to the enduring power of beauty and femininity while celebrating Black women and their contributions to society.

Meticulous design process: started with mood boards and sketches, finalized a silhouette, and created a technical flat in Adobe Illustrator. The textile print, inspired by body painting and Minoan art, involved precise measurements and careful engineering for a seamless finish and minimal waste. Printed through Contrado and produced in scuba crepe (94% polyester, 6% elastane).

This creative works has been submitted to the Costume Society of America for presentation in 2025 and is currently awaiting acceptance.
